In the name of Allaah, the Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.
Last Saturday there was truly a beautiful gathering of Salafis, brothers and sisters, young and old, at Durning Hall in East London.
The evening began even before the speakers arrived. The Salafis starting gathering at 7pm in anticipation of the evening ahead. The book stall was set up, leaflets were made ready, chairs laid in place, the speaker system set up.
The talk was scheduled for Abu Khadeejah, and he began close to 7.30pm. The lecture was in explanation of the statement of Ibn Abee Dawood as-Sijistaanee (d. 316H), “Hold fast to the Rope of Allaah, and follow guidance..”. Our brother read from the explanation of Shaikh al-Fawzaan (hafidhahullaah) clarifying the importance of holding to the Book and Sunnah, united as one body.
This topic is tremendously important in the times we live wherein we see Muslims divided and split. He heavily emphasised the duty upon the Salafis to remain as one body, loving each other for the sake of Allaah, and shutting down all the avenues to differing and splitting. He ended with a strong encouragement to aid in the establishment of the Athari Masjid in East London.
The hall was packed with brothers and sisters listening and taking notes…then no sooner had Abu Khadeejah finished his lecture, then the people were surprised to see Abu Hakeem, Abu Iyaad and Abu Idrees walking in to the hall. They were encouraged to go and take the microphone and deliver a few words of advice and encouragement, which they did.
The speakers emphasised the importance of unity and aiding the Masjid al-Athari Mosque project. Abu Hakeem and Abu Iyaad strongly encouraged the people to aid this noble effort for the sake of Allaah.
