بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

In the name of Allāh, the Most Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy

As-Salāmu ‘Alaikum Wa Rahmatullāhi Wa Barakātuh

:: BREAKING NEWS ::

O’Ahlus-Sunnah, We bring you Glad-Tidings of the first Salafi Masjid to be established in East London, Walhamdulillāh!

After months of striving and being patient, by the Grace and Bounties of our Lord, we have completed the purchase of a former church in East London. A building in which previously partners were associated with Allāh, The Most High, but will now be established as a place of worship for Allāh alone.

We are truly humbled by the support we have received from our Brothers and Sisters, the Salafi Centres and Mosques and our beloved Scholars and Du’āt. This has not just been locally or nationally in the UK but from all over the world. Ahlus Sunnah have supported and aided us in establishing a Salafi Masjid in East London. Truly your reward lies with Allāh. May Allāh, The Most High, make it heavy on your scales on Yawm-ul-Qiyāmah. Ameen.

Verily the Messenger of Allāh (عليه الصلاة والسلام) said, ‘Whoever does not thank the people has not thanked Allāh’. (Musnad Ahmad, Sunan At-Tirmidhī)

Over the last few months we were not able to give regular updates or disclose much information about the church and its purchase. Our approach has always been transparency, but on this occasion it was imperative to secure the building first through to completion before being able to make any announcements. These steps were taken to ensure that negotiations were not jeopardised in order for us to acquire the building, remembering the difficulties of securing a building for the purpose of a masjid in the first place.

To complete the purchase of the church we have been forced to take emergency loans as the purchase price was approximately £80k more than the previous building that the money was raised for. Therefore, the total amount of loans outstanding now is £267,000. Remember the building is now ours, and pending light refurbishment it will be YOUR Masjid soon, Inshā’Allāh.We will advise on refurbishment costs over the coming days once our builders have provided us with quotes.

The urgency is to now pay back these loans of which many are short term; in fact, we have just a few weeks to repay some of these heavy loans. Let us not lose out on this opportunity to give in charity and make Du’ā in the last few days of this blessed month of Ramadhan. This blessed month where the reward for Sadaqah is immense and supplications are answered. Giving charity during this month has a high status.

Allah The Almighty says,

((And spend (in charity) of that with which We have provided you, before death comes to one of you and he says: “My Lord! If only You would give me respite for a little while (i.e. return to the worldly life), then I should give Sadaqah of my wealth, and be among the righteous)).

In the coming weeks we will be conducting open days for you to attend, Inshā’Allāh. Bring your families and children as well so that they may be part of this exciting masjid project and aid us in making it a legacy. A legacy that is left behind for generations to come after our souls have been taken by the Angel of Death.

We humbly ask you to remember us in your Du’ās and donate generously so we can pay back the loans and make this masjid debt-free. Allāh has promised you houses in Jannah as ‘Umar bin Al-Khattab (رضي الله عنه) said:

“I heard the Messenger of Allāh say:

((مَنْ بَنَى مَسْجِدًا يُذْكَرُ فِيهِ اسْمُ اللَّهِ بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ))

‘Whoever builds a masjid in which the Name of Allah is mentioned, Allah will build a house for him in Paradise.’ (Sunan Ibn Majah).

Finally, we request that you visit our website www.masjidathari.com or follow us on twitter @Athariyyah for further details about the building and location, updates and dates/times of our public open days.
