:: Masjid / Ramadhān 2015 Update ::

 

As most of you will be aware we have been working hard and diligently to refurbish Masjid Abdul Aziz Bin Baz. Our progress has been available to follow for all via our Twitter page, @Athariyyah. We have, to date, completed the majority of building works for stage 1 and also around 75% of the stage 2 works, walhamdulillāh. 

Whilst we have made extensive progress and reached many of the refurbishment milestones, the Masjid however will not be ready to open in time for Ramadhān. This is for the simple reason that we do not yet have the final official Fire and Building Regulations certification from the local authorities. These are due imminently upon the completion of all works , which is approximately 4 weeks away, subject to no unforeseen delays, inshā’Allāh.

It is important to mention that we have considered potentially using the Masjid building without the necessary certification. However, we have decided that the risk of enforcement action by the local authority does not benefit the community both in the short or long term. It would not be appropriate to jeopardise the long term prospects of the Masjid for a short term benefit which would in essence be more harmful. We are not willing to risk the health and welfare of our brothers, sisters and children by allowing them to congregate in a building without the appropriate certification and lawful authorisation. 

We are in the process of looking at alternative venues in the meantime to be able to provide a suitable place of congregation for this Ramadhān. We will keep you updated on any developments. May Allāh aid us and you, Ameen.

We remind you that with patience comes success so let us utilise the blessed month of Ramadhān by making much supplication for the completion of works and subsequent opening of Masjid Abdul Aziz Bin Baz, the 1st Salafi Masjid in East London.

Furthermore, as you will be aware, by the permission of Allāh and then your generous donations, we have already repaid £120,000 of loans that were taken to complete the purchase of the Masjid building. We now request that you generously aid us to help repay the outstanding debt of £147,000 to make Masjid Abdul Aziz Bin Baz debt-free. This is an immense opportunity to earn a truly great reward this Ramadhān by reminding your parents, relatives, neighbours and friends to come together and to remove this debt as soon as possible.
